VOTE: Video

Hello everyone!

Thank you for your feedback on the last poll. The Pond of Fame is now live, and I plan to make more gradual updates to it as time goes on. If you still haven't chosen a colour for your froggy, please do feel free to let me know.

I am also planning to start a patreon-only video series called "Deep Dive" where I show you detailed behind-the-scenes content from my videos. It will be a much more raw and unedited look into some different things. The first one will be a closer look at the code for the different types of water in last week's video. I will show you how each element works under the hood, and I will also show you some of the elements that I ended up cutting from the final video. Be on the look out for that video in the next week or so!

Finally, I am now starting to plan my next YouTube video. These are the different topics that I am considering (titles not final). What would you like to see?

Quirks and Bugs
I often see that people are shy about sharing their code that they write as a hobby. I sometimes hear, "I just need to clean up the code, and then I will open-source it." I would like to encourage people to share their hobbies/projects/code regardless of how messy it is, by sharing some of my messiest/worst bits of code. And the biggest bugs/quirks in the SandPond engine. Hopefully this video can be an interesting look into how SandPond works, as well as reassuring to others who also write messy code.

How to make a programming language in 5 minutes
I often hear people say that making a programming language is really hard, so I would like to show people how they can get started from scratch in a short video. I'm totally self-taught, so it wouldn't use proper terminology or anything, but I would just show how I would go about it. Hopefully this can empower/inspire people to give it a try!

Top 9 ways to sort numbers
A video that starts from the very basic (bubble sort) to the rare and unusual (demon horde sort) and also gets to some more ridiculous ideas. I would not include the more traditionally used algorithms, like quicksort or mergesort, because there are enough videos about those already. Instead, I will lead up to some wacky esoteric approaches. Hopefully this can be entertaining, and encourage people to think outside of the box a little bit.

Words
A video that advances the conlang 'Tode' by introducing words and some basic sentences. I hope this can get people thinking outside of the box about language, and be an escapist trip to something totally different.

NumberTode
A video that shows how to make an esoteric language called "NumberTode" that converts written number words into digits. For example: "twenty seven" gets translated to "27". "four point two plus three" gets translated to "7.2". I would use the MotherTode language to make NumberTode. I hope this can share the joy of making a language with people, as well as showing that it might be simpler than they think it is.

Top 9 ways to make Molecules
A video where I explore how to make multi-atom structures in the SandPond engine. It's something that I would really like to explore, but I haven't really started yet! I hope this video can introduce something new and interesting to viewers.

What is the T2 Tile project?
A video where I outline what the T2 Tile project is, as well as robust-first computing and indefinite scalability. I mention it in so many videos, so it would be great to cover it in more detail. I hope this video can explain those concepts clearly, and introduce a whole new idea to people.

Comments

Will do! Nice to get an idea of people's suggestions though :)

i vote for you feeling free to ignore the results of the poll if you end up changing your mind and making something totally different!
