It's crunch time! Not long until the next video now (hopefully)! This is what I've been working on for it...
Future Past
I've been making more and more types of time machine for the next video. There have been two key developments!
Each world secretly keeps track of what will happen half-a-second in the future. It does this by keeping a hidden parallel timeline that runs 30 frames ahead. Let's call it the projection. When you interact with the world (eg: by clicking and dragging a frog), it recalculates the projection. We can make a frog travel to the future quite easily by teleporting it into the projection.
The projection can also let us make frogs travel backwards in time. If a frog goes through a portal in the future projection, we can make it appear in the present world. This makes it look like it has travelled from the future. Does that make sense???
I have two more types of time travel to make. One of them involves having different timelines running at different speeds (and some in reverse). The other one involves making individual objects travel at different speeds (and some in reverse). We're in the home straight now! 🏁

The time travel video has been taking a long time to make! Hopefully it's worth it!
For my next video, I want to make something that I can release much earlier. I have been planning a "Video Video" where I take a look back at some of my older videos, and how they have changed over time.
People often ask me how I go about making the videos, and what I think about them. It has got me thinking about it myself.
Also, it should be a nice way of looking back at the ORIGINAL cellular automata experiments that got me into all of this thing.
The usual 'twist' of the video is that it will end up looking at what my videos of the future could look like, and the different ways it could go. So... in a way... it'll be another time travel video!
