Out of Time

I've been working very hard on the new Time Travel video! Most of the coding work is done and I'm currently in the process of recording voice-overs and video clips. I'm really looking forward to sharing it with everyone. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll finish it by the end of this month... 😢

My new target release date is the 3rd October! Will I make it in time? Maybe! Hopefully! Setting myself a target helps me to stay focused, so thank you for staying tuned.

I've restructured the final 'act' of the video because it was dragging on a little bit. The final length of the video is going to be approximately ten and a half minutes - so one of the longer ones.

Sandpond Saga

One of the last things I've coded for the new video is... lots of different colour frogs for the time engine. They're going to represent different 'versions' of the SandPond Saga, and the different possible ways of implementing time travel.

I've also had to go back and redo a lot of my old video transitions - so that they use different colour frogs (depending on what section of the video it is). Hopefully this will all make sense soon!

Video Video

I'm now planning ahead to my next video. I want to be able to produce it quickly so that I keep up with my "NEW VIDEO EVERY MONTH" (on average) promise.

I was thinking about making a 'Video Video', where I make a video about my video-making process. But I'm not sure about it. I think it would be quite self-indulgent and not too interesting (for me, or anyone). I need to think it through a bit more, to make sure it has a good purpose behind it. It might be something I come back to in the future, potentially in December.

I have a few 'low-hanging-fruit' videos I could make. For example, I could make one about some of my toy programming languages. Another thing I'm considering is a "SandPond 2" video. That is... if I recreated SandPond from the ground up... what would I do differently? I'm currently storyboarding those two videos to see if they would be doable in a short timespan.

Then, I can get onto making the November video, which will be voted for by patrons again!
