What's new this week?

Tween

A Patron (and Froggy Hero) named Magnogen rewrote and improved my code for tweening things. With their new changes, it's much easier for me to animate moving things for my videos. I've already used it to render some clips for the next video! Thanks Magnogen!

It uses some sneaky getters and setters to accurately tween things over time. It's a neat idea! I don't really understand the maths behind it at all! But they made this graph to demonstrate it: desmos.com/calculator/intizv20ua

Timeline

I finished making my little timeline visualiser for the next video. It lets you zoom in and out on different points, and move around it however you want. You can also fly a froggy plane along it. I was able to use the new tween function to make some nice soaring shots around it!

By the way, the timeline also extends off into the future, so I made some fake future thumbnails of videos! I tried to give my best guess at what those thumbnails might look like. I also need to add in the thumbnail for this next video, so I'll put that in when I've nearly finished it.

Stars

I updated my starfield visual for the next video. I replaced the little stars with little thumbnails of my previous video, to fit the theme. And it was fun playing around with the parameters to produce some trippy-looking effects. The code is up here: github.com/l2wilson94/StarPond

I finally figured out how to use Adobe After Effects! I tested out removing the background of a clip, so that I can superimpose SandPond over the top of another video. I plan to do this during the final act of the next video!

Progress on the next video is really in full-flow now! I'm working hard on it, and I have a clear vision of what I want to make. Still a lot more to do, but I hope you're looking forward to it!
