Genuary

I've started doing some Genuary challenges! Hopefully I last longer than I did with Advent of Code this year!

Videooooooo

I've nearly finished the next video!

I mentioned last time that I've been isolating (due to COVID). This means I haven't been able to get outside to film one of the last sections of the video. I've got nearly every other part of the video ready now, and I plan to film the final piece in the next couple of weeks. Sorry that it's late! Not even TodePond can escape the reaches of the pandemic...

Because of the extra time I've had to make this video, I think I may have 'over-edited' some sections. So I'm going to strip back a few transitions and effects this week too.

Discord

I started a discord server!

I want it to be a friendly place where people can show+share creative+coding things. I find that many coding communities can be a bit harsh/competitive/gatekeepy. So I would like to attempt to make a place that maximises sharing fun+joyful things+ideas.

I won't post much of my own stuff there. But to kickstart the server, I will regularly post some things I like from around the internet. Personally, I love finding gems that haven't been discovered by very many people yet.

You are very welcome to join in!... or post your own stuff!... or just lurk around and see what I post!

Vibes

(You've probably noticed by now) but I love trance music. Specifically, I love Above & Beyond - and I listen to their radio show every week. I was also fortunate enough to go to their recent live show (here in London).

Why am I mentioning this? Well, in a way, their music is more than just music. In a recent interview, they talk about how their shows have become 'Group Therapy' for many people each week (me included). People from around the world comment on the feed each week, spreading positivity to other listeners. And they also mention how their live shows are known for being very welcoming places. I can confirm (from first-hand experience) that this is true. The people I interacted with on that day left a lasting effect on me.

My aspiration... is for my videos to be more than just videos. Ideally, I would like to spread some joy + positivity with them. I would like to make people feel welcome. I would like to create a little joyful community.
