Could it be...? Is it time for the...

🔔🐸 TODEPOND TIMES 🐸🔔

What's new this week? Let me show you!

Covid

I got COVID! Oh dear!

This means that I've got to stay indoors until January. THIS means I won't be able to finish my next video in time, because the final 'act' of the video involves me doing some filming outside, in the real world.

So, I'll get every other part of the video ready, and then I'll try to quickly film and place in the footage for the final act - as soon as my isolation period ends!

I've now mapped out the whole video. It's going to involve trying to make sand in 13 different engines (if all goes to plan). I actually have 18 engines written down on my shortlist, so I'm going to have to cut some out. Maybe, we'll have to do a Tourism 3!?

Because the video is ending up quite long, I'm going to use Sisu by Paul Arcane as an extra background music track. Maybe it's a bit 'much'... but hopefully it will make the video feel more exciting! Currently, it looks like the video will be around 10 minutes long.

Hopefully, I can finish all of that ahead of time, and then I can get started on the next video! Which will be all about the 'drag & drop' idea from the Cells video. (And the next video vote will be out pretty soon too!)

Screens in Screens in Screens

I have an idea for a weird engine. I got the idea when I was making the SandPond Saga video. To make the video, I had to record my screen recording my screen recording my screen, etc... By recording itself, it made some cool recursive + fractal patterns! I think it would be fun to make a little toy engine where you could play with this.

It would work like this: Pick a colour from a palette. Then click and drag to draw a rectangle with that colour's border. This rectangle is a 'screen'. You can also move and rotate screens.

Here's the fun bit... The insides of every screen is the same for each screen of the same colour. So... if you have two red screens out, whatever's in one, will also be in the other one. If you put a green screen inside one red screen, it will appear in ALL red screens.

But... what happens if you put a red screen inside a red screen? That screen would be inside itself, inside itself, inside itself. Then, imagine combining different colours together. And imagine getting them to move around. I'm not sure if I've explained the idea very well, but I think it will look quite cool!

Maybe one day, I'll make a video about it.

Until next time... Thanks for reading! And thank you so much for your continuous support! We just got to 400 subscribers on youtube, so let's celebrate this holiday-time. Cheers! and Merry Frogmas 🏆🐸
