Neverendering

What's new this week?

Neverending Rendering
Normally, my videos don't take that long to render. After I've glued them all together, it usually takes around an hour to pop out a video file. But with the next video, 📺 Screens in Screens in Screens... one particular scene is causing the rendering time to take more than 5 hours. And it's not even finished yet!
I think this is because I'm using lots of different layers and vectors, and I'm scaling these up to quite large scales. I'd love to explain more, but I don't want to ruin the surprise of when this scene happens. After the video is released, I'll break down what's going on a bit more!
Anyway, I've been leaving my computer going overnight (so that I can wake up with a new render). And I'm rendering some things ahead-of-time so that it's ready-to-go as soon as the rest of the video is ready! I'm still hoping to *maybe* finish it this week, or if not - early next week!

Neverending Nothing
Now that the video is almost done, I've been planning the one after that, 🔮 Spellular Automata (which won the video vote). I'm going to make it as a sort of sequel/remix to the 🤖 Nothing video. That video was very 'neat' with each element leading into the next. The 8 'slots' for elements got neatly filled in as the video progressed.
THIS TIME, it's going to be a MESS. It'll start the same way, but quickly derail and the structure of the video will be lost. I hope it can capture a little bit of the joy of being messy, and experimenting in a chaotic way. And I guess this has some similarities with how the 🌀 Time Travel video disrupted the usual format of the other ⭐ Top 9 videos.

Neveren- Interruptions
I've also been planning out the video after that. I was umming-and-ahing between some of the runners-up, but I've settled on 📕Define Define! Here's the summary, if you missed it:
My videos use lots of fancy words... like 'cellular automata', 'programming language', 'life', and more. Let's finally try (and fail) to define them! As the video progresses, we'll define sillier and sillier things. By the end of the video, we'll have defined nothing at all, and the viewer will leave more confused than ever.
I think I've figured out how to structure the video. Have you ever seen a youtube video where... partway through, the video-maker interrupts the video and says something like "Hi everyone, I'm just editing the video right now, and I've just realised that I've made a mistake, the real way to do this is......"
Well, I'm going to use that as the gimmick of the video. I'm hoping to use it as a way of transitioning from one definition to the next - similar to the social media transitions in ✨ New Cellular Automata. I'm looking forward to it!
Thank you so much for supporting me and my projects. I really hope that they can inspire people to be creative. And I hope you feel glad to be a part of that! I hope you have a great week (wherever you are in the world). See you soon! 🎞🐸🎞
