I've finally finished the engine that I've been making for my next video! The engine is called ScreenPond, and it lets you create some infinite droste effect illusions.
The last thing I added was: More ways to edit and alter screens on-the-fly. For example, you can now resize, rescale, skew, and stretch screens.
This means... I'm now working hard on putting the video together. This week, I've finalised the script and storyboard - and I've been editing together all the music + audio. It's very fun trying to mix different trance tunes together! (I have no idea how DJs do it live...)
Ankh
I coded a little visualiser called AnkhPond for some of the video's transitions. It's inspired by the 'Self-Image' symbol, introduced in a video essay called We Are Coders, by Dave Ackley.
I don't expect viewers to recognise, or understand, the symbolism going on... But I hope I can get across that it represents something at least. That's my goal with it.
By the way, whenever I make these little projects, I use my personal little library called Habitat. And this week, I also took the opportunity to clean up and add a few things to the library. I was able to make use of this in AnkhPond.
Tourism 3D
I've done two 'Tourism' videos so far... 𧳠Tourism, and π© Tourism 2: Off-Road. Both videos were my way of featuring/exploring lots of other people's engines/tools.
Since making the second video, I've been keeping a list of projects that I could potentially feature in a sequel, π Tourism 3D. This time, I would like to make sure that I feature people from a much wider and more diverse background.
The good news is: my list has already got quite big! But I'm always on the hunt for more tools I could make pink sand with. So if you know any worth checking out, please do let me know!
I'm really going to end up with quite a lot of different videos to make... And I'm determined to do them all! So, as usual...
