What's new this week?
Outside
It's just over ten days until the next video is released! After being away on holiday for a little bit, I'm now back-at-work, editing it together!
While I was away, I managed to film some b-roll footage of the woods+mountains. And I've now edited some of that into the video. Like usual, there are some little clips of nature - set to an inappropriately-bassy trance soundtrack.
Inside
I've also been editing together some of the transitions between different sections of the video. To make these, I coded some different visual layouts for PaintPond (the little engine that I used for the crossing-out sections of ✨ New Cellular Automata).
Each layout briefly shows some different coloured boxes (that look similar to Screens from 📺 Screens in Screens in Screens). I want the boxes to indicate a sort-of structure to the video. We'll write the name of each cellular-automata inside each box! But that might be harder than it sounds... 👀
Underside
I've also started working on the following video, 📕 Define Define! In it, I'll try (and fail) to define all the fancy words that I use in my videos, such as 'cellular automata'. As part of this failed attempt, I'll show lots of examples of these terms. None of the examples will be very helpful, and the viewer will leave more confused than ever!
This might sound like a strange idea for a video! But I'm hoping it'll have a similar-ish feel as the ✨ New Cellular Automata video, where I failed to make new cellular automata.
This week, I've been coding one of those examples! It's called Tris! It's like Tetris, but instead of using tetronimos, it uses tronimos! I'm also planning on adding a little local-multiplayer mode to it.
And I'm going to make lots more mini-projects for the video! (some smaller than others)
