Recording
The release of the next video is VERY SOON! 🔮 Spellular Automata will be published at some point on the 31st October (spooky)! I've nearly finished it now!
One of the final things I've done for it is: I re-recorded a load of the voiceover for the video. Why would I do that!? Well... when I was watching back parts of the video... something felt a bit 'off' with it.
As usual, the video 'builds up' to some bigger moments. And in those big moments, I tend to do a weird thing with my voice and I speak all s_l_o_w_l_y and stuff. Some people find it annoying, but I quite like the humorous over-gravitas. Similar to how Philomena Cunk speaks.
This time, however, I didn't 'build up' to the s_l_o_w speaking at all. I started slow! Which just sounded really boring. So... I've now re-recorded the first third of the video - to make it start a tiny bit more snappily.
(unfortunately, my microphone picked up the washing machine in the background of the new recordings! so I also had to do some by-hand noise-cancelling in them too!)
Spiralling
Another thing I've been doing for the video is: I've been coding + recording some spirally-starfield visuals.
I first started making this sort of thing for the 🌀 Time Travel video. And I've ended up using it for quite a few other videos too! Each time I've used it, I've tweaked it a little bit - adding/removing new features+behaviours.
It was most recently used in ✨ New Cellular Automata (it's the thing you can see behind all the social media posts).
