What's new this week?

Sharing
It's been a couple of weeks since the latest video came out! โก Spellular Automata was all about making some fun cellular automata in CellPond. And since then, a bunch more people have tried it out! It's been fun to see what they make with it.
To try to support this better... This week: I added the ability to save+load+share creations. These are some of the things you can now do:
๐ธ Press Ctrl+S to save a creation
๐ธ Press Ctrl+O to load a creation
๐ธ Press Ctrl+C to copy a creation to the clipboard
๐ธ Press Ctrl+V to load a creation from the clipboard
๐ธ or Drag a creation file onto the world to load it up
I've added a few example creations that you can download and try out. But you can also check out what other people are making! Like Sawyer McLane's spellbook! (Sawyer is a patron)

Habitat
In between videos, I usually spend a little bit of time on updating+maintaining my tools. Last time, I updated Frogasaurus, which is what I use to create some of my other tools. This time, I've rewritten Habitat, which is my personal collection of little helpful functions.
My main goal for these tools is to help me to prototype small projects very quickly! I tend to dart from project-to-project, so it's nice to be able to get things up-and-running without too much setup-time.
The other goal I have is: I want to be able to use my tools in whatever situation I'm in. Whether that's as part of a more extensive build process... or just a single file on my phone. And I want everything to run in both the browser and the command line too!

The Labs
Anyway... I've been making some things for the next video! I've done a lot more work on the script, and I've been coding some small projects for it.
Previously, I made a little tetris-clone. And I've now added a local-multiplayer mode to it. This will help to explain some things in one of the sections of the video!
I've also made a little bird-catching game, which I'm calling BerdLabs. All you have to do is: Click the birds! And it was written with HTML and CSS (no javascript allowed).
The new video will feature lots more coding projects. Some will be bigger than others, and I've started by making the smallest ones. But I'm really excited to get onto some of the more ambitious ideas too!
Thank you very much for your week-on-week support! You're really helping me make these videos + projects, and I hope you're looking forward to what's coming next! Welcome to all my new patrons this week! And I hope you all have a good one. See you next time! ๐ธ๐ค
