SandLab
Let me introduce one of the new projects to you...
SandLab is something I've been thinking about for a while. It's a cellular automata where you can place down sand, water, and other elements (sound familiar?)
But there's a twist: When there's a lot of one element clumped together (eg: a big pile of sand), nearby cells merge together into larger cells. When the element needs to move or change, they split up into smaller cells again.
In the 🦕 Big Sand video, 'sleeping' was banned. Cells always had to be active + behaving! In SandLab, we take the 'sleeping' concept to the max: Clumped together cells are more than just sleeping: They don't even exist!
Is this making sense?
Ok, I'll carry on working on it for now! I'm planning to get sand, air, and wall elements working for the video.
