Added 2021-08-06 21:47:01 +0000 UTCThis is one of those illustrations that I created from a place of comfort and joy, I'm very happy with my technique at the moment and I didn't want to try anything new or crazy, I just focused on the subject and let the piece slowly come to live.
Michael is super cute and sweet but for some reason it took me awhile to draw him, I did try a couple times but it never made it out of the sketching stage, I wasn't getting the right vibe to represent him properly.
But recently I saw this photo of him on Instagram, not a studio photo but a regular self made pic from around the house and it immediately catch my interest, it's totally representative of his personality and it fits in my personal aesthetic so perfectly, I favor this type of pose and angle a lot, So I went for it and I'm super happy with the result.
