So I took the mermaid/roommate theme very literally haha.

It was Katsuki's mermaid paper so I stuck to it!

For the lore :

In this AU they are childhood friends. Izuku's father was a fisherman and often took Izuku out on his little boat on weekends. One day, when there were big waves, Izuku went overboard and Kat came to save him. From then, whenever Izuku went to sea with his father, he was allowed to play with his new best friend.

(In this AU, magical creatures and humans live in harmony. I don't know if you've seen the Disney film “Onward”? A bit like that haha).

When they grew up, Katsuki and Izuku went to the same schools. Katsuki forced his parents to go to an Earth school. They went to the same high school and now the same university! Being old enough to live together on their own, they decided to share a house.

So a mermaid-human roommate isn't all that unusual, but it does require some sort of arrangement to live together!

So I imagined a little fisherman's house, with Katsuki's bedroom (in the sea) opening directly onto the living room via a small ladder! I tried to add a few details to make it a bit realistic. Like the buoy on the water is actually Katsuki's bedside lamp! And he unfortunately has to keep his pillow “nailed” to the sand so it doesn't float away with the movement of the waves haha.

Katsuki is a mermaid/ Siamese fighting fish. Because I thought it suited him very well. He can take human form to go on land.

It's a bit of a mermaid AU crossover university AU haha.

I love their little house, it's so cute!

I'm thinking of trying to make some doodles of them because I really like Mermaid Katchan!

I hope you like this first AU, it was so cool to make! I had so much fun! I can't wait to finish these drawings and move on to the next one!
