Patron Update - 10/17/2024

Howdy all, haven't had a text update in a while. Time to discuss what's going on.

Next Video - Media Literacy Isn't Dead

The next proper video is Media Literacy Isn't Dead, discussing the rise of "The Death of Media Literacy" and discussion supposedly famous examples of poor media literacy (such as Conservatives and Star Trek) and the rise of Grievance Media, where people make their personal grievances out to be wider cultural issues. The conclusion being that people use "Media Literacy" when they want to complain about people disagreeing with them, in the same way TikTok dregs make "Kids are annoying" into "Skibidi Toilet Syndrome" or Tories make having to see a black person into "Wokeness" and "DEI."

Previous Dead Ideas Now Open Again

With Youtube's algorithm now burying my content and seeing less traffic overall, previous video ideas I had originally dismissed as not being popular enough are back on the table. So my videos on Baldur's Gate, the Imoen Mod, and other similar projects are back in the pipeline. I'm also more inclined to leave certain videos as Patron exclusives in the first place. My focus is now primarily on Patreon, as it should have been from the start.

More Baldur's Gate videos are certainly something I want to do, as I don't have a lot of opportunities to really use the Baldur's Gate footage I have. Possibly Dragon Age as well, though I don't have as much footage of that at the moment.

Videos on RGU are on the table as well, though at present I have no plans for a serious video on them. There's RGU In A Nutshell, but I also have an idea for a video detailing the similarities between RGU and Kingdom Hearts, which gets increasingly more unhinged and reaching as the video goes on.

New Harassment Oh Boy

As you're all probably aware by now, one of the fashy drama channels made another hit piece on me using the same regurgitated crap we had already ripped apart in the Harassment video, with both Brittany and Courtney cooking up new claims to make they hadn't thought of in the intervening time. It uses the same barely existing claims and evidence as before, but people thought it would be some smoking gun because it was made by a channel the algorithm favours.

Between using pre-transition photos of me they had to dig to find and giving my deadname out to people, it's not really any attempt to pretend it's not just more far-right psycho shit.
