playing with light and shapes (series)
Added 2017-12-26 18:16:59 +0000 UTCCould be that you have already seen some of these experimental photos in their earlier version, but here are the new edits and all the until today unpliblished photos of this session.
I wanted to achieve some special effect, kind of a scary or mysterious atmosphere. It was a late afternoon, already dark outside and I closed the curtains so that the room in which we took the photos was absolutely dark. I've put the camera on a tripod, searched for the angle, composition and pose, focused, and then turned off the light and opened the shutter of the camera. Then I flashed on Yana sever times with a handheld flash.
I wanted her to look scared and to move only very slightly between the different flashes, so that most of her would be focused, while other parts could be visible several times and more or less illuminated.
The work was very slow because after each photo, when the shutter of the camera was closed, I had to control the result and adjust the power of the flash depending of if I wanted to take the next photo with two, thre or four flashes. I switched on the room light, tried the next pose, moved the tripod and adjusted its height, and then took the next shot.
What you see here is the last part of a very long session. We started in the red ambience of the shower (I think most of those photos have been published, but I will see if there are still some unseen ones that are worthwhile to show you here in another moment). We were already quite tired, and when Yana finally fell on the bed (the last picture you see in the series), we were too much exhausted to continue...
I love these "ghost"-images very much. They are different. I publish them here for my "Special"-patrons because of the short video that follows in the next post...
