Color problems on mobile firefox
Added 2018-06-24 09:32:48 +0000 UTCSomething completely different, more technical:
I am now editing the photos on my laptop, which means that I do not have a calibrated screen anymore and I am very unsure about colors anyway.
But the real problem is firefox, especially on mobile phones. Wen I first looked at my tumblr blog recently using the mobile, I was shocked: my mages looked heavily over saturated, with a strong reddish color fault. My girls look as if I had told them such a very indecent joke they they turned red not only in the face but all over their body. Or suffered a strong sunburn. Additionally the contrast of the images changes. It's really bad!
To investigate further I saved some images on my phone - and in the gallery they looked just normal, the same as on my laptop screen!
I googled a lot. I found out that firefox uses some "color management", and this goes terribly wrong at least on mobile phones. One can turn off color management in firefox, but this of course does not help: I cannot ask the world to go and change technical settings in their browser.
So I tried a lot, embedding color profiles, removing color profiles..., but nothing helped. It means that I must live with that Firefox-speciality until I somehow find a method to produce images that look ok in firefox on mobile phones, too.
If you use firefox on your phone to look at my patreon: save an image and look at it in the phones gallery. The difference is huge.
