an old photo to announce a new password

The photo I use for this announcement is really very old. It was on my very first website at the times when internet connections still were made with a modem and the size of this image was - for that time - giant. It loaded line by line and it took some seconds until it fully appeared.

Times are changing.

The image is part of a series I shot for a stockings company. I took the photos for the packaging, for the ads and the shop posters. Digital cameras didn't exist, all photos were taken with my beloved (an poor, because never used...) Hasselblad 6x6 camera on film.

I bought a very expensive scanner (approx. 7000 CHF) that was able to scan 6x6cm negatives and slides in a resolution that everybody would laugh about it today. The backups of the scans were on diskettes (do you remember, or are you not that old?)

I still worked with Windows (3.1!) and a very early version of photoshop. I had an Eizo monitor of 15" and was very proud to have such a giant high-end piece of hardware...

Of course I still have all the negatives and slides from that time in my archive, but the only digital images are those that I had on my website and in my very first pay-site, the so-called "hot gallery", where you could order a CD with high-res images of 800 pixels size...

At that time payments for nudes were no problem. I didn't need a service provider like paypal (that didn't even exist as an idea) or CC-Bill or similar. I had a contract with Visa and Amex and could directly accept credit card payments. For each order I had to call the clearing center by phone to get the validation code.

Old times... but in fact I made much more money with my "hot gallery CD's" (of which the last one contained not even 1000 images, and only part of them nudes) than I do today here on Patreon. But as it is impossible to accept paypal payments for nudes directly and the alternative (CC-Bill) is a) very expensive and b) not well accepted also because c) very complicated, artists like me depend of the services of pages like Patreon...

If there is interest, I'll publish the last "hot gallery" here. Just say "yes I want" in a comment to this post :-)
