is discovering new models for my nude photography.
Sometimes I find a new model via an ad or an article like this one. Or via friends of my models, who inspire their curiosity and the wish to model for me and to get (besides the fee) some really good, extraordinary, very personal photos.
What are "good photos"? Henri Cartier-Bresson said: "A good photo is a photo you look at for more than a second." Of course, I always want to create images that you look at longer, but I do not say that I shoot countless super photos in every session. For me, a session is successful when I get ONE real super image. Famous photographer Ansel Adams said "Twelve significant photographs in any one year is a good crop".
Sometimes I have a plan for a session and then quite different pictures come out if I just let flow what happens between model, camera and me. American photographer Diane Arbus said, "I have never taken a picture as I intended, they are getting worse or better."
Most of all I like to discover a model and to work with her in many sessions. Star photographer Helmut Newton said, "The first 10,000 shots are the worst." - maybe it’s not that extreme, but for sure the photos get better, the better I know the model.
