a special ballet girl (preview)
Added 2024-04-26 13:31:45 +0000 UTCI often asked my models about hobbies or special preferences and asked them to bring something to the session to work with this theme.
The young woman here brought a semi-sheer, short ballet skirt which she was obviously very happy in, while I (quietly!) thought the delicate little skirt didn't suit her not-quite-ballet-typical, tattooed body, nor her type, but as it was obviously something she enjoyed, so I repositioned the flash lights to photograph her more or less in dance poses. In the first shot of this series you can see how I set up the light and controlled it with a few test shots until it was the way I wanted it.
Although I wasn't convinced by the idea (as I said: quietly!), I have to admit that some really good pictures were taken during this part of the session - probably precisely because it was her own idea and because she felt comfortable and sexy with the translucent piece of fabric.
It's often good to listen to others and do something you're not really convinced of at first!
