home again (for Priscilla)

Huuu, this morning we got up at 5am, and even without taking a shower took a taxi to the giant airport of Bogotá. We were told that this time in the morning will be high traffic time and we will for sure need an hour and half to reach the airport where we should arrive 2 hours before takeoff, scheduled at 9am.

But then traffic was easy, the taxi driver for once didn't have the urgent aim to kill us in a car accident (*) and we arrived safely after only 50 minutes. Check in was done very fast and the airport is - despite of being huge - ways better than the terribly chaotic and ultra-ugly airport of Madrid: more modern, more beautiful, shorter walking ways, millions of times much nicer control stuff (well, actually infinitely much nicer than in Madrid, because there stuff lets you feel that working is about the last thing they like to do and that they deeply hate humans). So there we were and I could even use the public toilet, that was so clean and efficient (you don't have to touch anything, even the door locks are made so that you can close and open using your elbow) that I think it is worthwhile to mention it.

After a short flight of 40 minutes low with nice views over the mountains of Colombia's center we landed in Manizales, small city in the coffee triangle of Colombia and home town of Priscilla.

We reached our hotel after a wild ride with a taxi and finally could take a shower and relax.

This afternoon we met two young woman who will model for me the day after tomorrow. If weather allows (rain is foreseen, but let's hope the best) we will go to a wild "Eco Park" and take photos outdoors. One of the two is a very sweet woman - a master in Biology, and although I haven't seen her naked till now, I am quite sure that it will be very nice to have her in front of my camera!

The other one is a woman that I would never have chosen as a dream model, but she seems to be very wild, very alternative, very happy and actually it was her who came up with the idea of the nature park where there are many wild animals (we two, and many more, she said) and seems to be a interesting person. Now that I always have such a big mouth about natural women and that I think we should take, love and appreciate women just as they are, now I have the chance (and the challenge) to show the beauty and sensuality of somebody who doesn't fit in the stereotypes. I am very curious.

Talking about stereotypes I must confess that I am very positively surprised by those women that I met until now. None of them fulfills what is said in the prejudices about Colombian girls, although they all are very beautiful. All of them are very educated, working in ambitious professions or studying at the university - not the slightest touch of "a poor but sexy girl". In fact, although from Spain we look a bit down to Colombia, those women are more educated, interesting and pleasant than many in Spain and once more I can confirm that the prejudices in most of the cases do not have much in common with reality.

Priscilla now just met her mother (I had the pleasure to get to know her too) and will now go home to also surprise her father and for sure meet family and friend. I'll lay down a little bit, then have dinner in the hotel, because after those last days and the early start today I am quite wiped out. So I'll spend my first night alone here and see Priscilla again tomorrow.

(*) The worst taxi driver I ever had to suffer was many years ago in Bombay or Mumbai, but those in Bogotá come quite close to that record. I even asked if taxi drivers must learn how to drive a car before they are allowed to drive a taxi. The accelerator pedal is just and on/off switch, and the brakes, too:  full speed also if the next red light is only 50 meters away, full brake, your head is banging fore and back all the time, and all this with such a small distance to the car in front that you can't see the license plate anymore. Speed limits are pure decoration, nobody seems to care about, and a red traffic light for sure looks nice but besides of the warm color it doesn't seem to have any other meaning... It's a speed race in zigzag trough the heavy traffic. Well, I survived :-)
