some private holiday shots from my mobile

Her are some more mobile clicks for you...

The first image shows me together with one of the models in a lookout point over Bogotá, the second are Priscilla and I having a coffee in Manizales, te next two are me on the little airport of Manizales, then some of me at Comunidad 13 in Medellin, the place that only 20 years ago was considered as worlds most dangerous place - apart of the massacres of the drug bandits and the government that cost countless lives, there were about 250 killings every day.

That has bettered much, nowadays there are only 30-40 killings each day, they say... Comunidad 13 is a huge neighborhood, manly poor and very poor, that was under total control of the drug barons. They were absolutely cruel and obligated the young to be soldier and kill for them. They had a very rigid system based on undamped violence until Pablo Escobar was shot on the flight of the, not less cruel, army.

Youth though was used to kill, criminal, wit no hope. Some artists had the idea to engage the young people in beautifying and cleaning their neighborhood instead of getting criminal. Artists from all over the world came to leave their meanwhile famous graffiti and local guides, people who live in Comunidad 13, walk around with small groups of tourists. This is totally safe, because those guides bring people who leave money for souvenirs, drinks... and thus nobody attacks them.

The colorful poorness of that neighborhood is now one of the big attractions of Medellin, and for sure it is better than leaving the people suffering in criminality, but still it leaves a bit a bitter taste to have such a "romantic view" on the situation of so many people...

Finally we are landing at San Andrés and going to the hotel which is in the city but has a nice tropical garden and is very quiet. Some impressions of the town at night (it is safe to walk around) the wonderful beaches, and always: Priscilla, also some snapshots of our very private moments in the hotel...
