I continue with my report about my last road trip...
From Ascona, in the Canton Ticino (the Italian speaking part of Switzerland on the south of the Alps) we took the old road up to the Nufenenpass from where we had a spectacular view over the mountains and the remaining glaciers.
The street up there is very curvy and it must be a special fun to drive it with a motorbike - or as you can see in the second photo, with a car much faster than mine.
Although I swear that they didn't take the curves faster than I did with my old diesel van. I am a quite careful and defensive driver, I prefer to slow down when somebody wants to overtake in a risky situation instead of being the one who can write "but he was right" on his gravestone. Still, I think I drive at decent speed not causing queues, and while I had the impression that I take the curves so very slow that my young playful company Priscilla for sure thinks "oh, that old guy is afraid" in the end she complained that I take the curves too fast. (I was never too fast, I swear, far away from the limits my car would allow, but I understand that those very tight turns cause some inconvenience to the fellow passenger while I enjoyed the varied ride).
On the the highest point of the pass there is a restaurant and - of course - a souvenir shop. There's quite a lot of people up there, but my lovely Priscilla knows very well that I love to enjoy her charms in every moment and so she let me compare the soft and lovely hills of her juvenile body with the huge and hard mountains of Switzerland...
I add some more photos of the landscape.
