from Zermatt to Kandersteg

No, we didn't stay at the hotel "Zermatterhof", that would definitively have exceeded our budget by far. But right to the left of it there's a very nice hotel where we could stay for a reduced price thanks to a friend from school-times.

Zermatt really is a very beautiful, very Swiss, very touristic town at the bottom of the impressive mountains, above all the famous Matterhorn, that I already showed you in a post when we were actually there...

There would be a lot o things to do if you come with the big wallet. One could take a Matterhorn glacier ride, with gondolas with so-called “Crystal ride”  cabins, which are coated with Swarovski crystals and take you to a height of 3883 meters in 9 minutes. After three  minutes, the cloudy glass bottom clears in a matter of seconds to  provide a magnificent view of the glacier landscape.or those who do not suffer vertigo... The price, though, is also spectacular...

One could also take a 20 minutes ride with the helicopter. But it is between CHF 220 and 320, too much or us nowadays.

But as you will see in the series I'll upload in a few minutes, my lovely company Priscilla and I still had a lot of fun and enjoyed the fantastic weather in this so very emblematic Swiss place.

The next day we took the short train to Täsch, the last town before Zermatt that you can reach by car (Zermatt itself is car-free). We drove to Goppenstein where we took the train through the Lötschberg-tunnel. It is a train on which you drive with the car and then you sit there in your car while the train brings you to the other side of the mountain. We were very lucky because we didn't have any waiting time and my car was the second last that fit on the train...
