So i´ve been busy, and wanted to share a bit about one of the current projects, which is the biome generation. And we are going back to 2020/2021 where we had a similar but way more simpler system. A latitude & climate controlled system, where as in contrast currently a random perlin voronoi system is in place, which to be fair, does an outstanding job on creating a diverse and engaging varying biome diversity to explore.
more biome variety
biome transitions
7 climate zones
7 participation levels
forests, 3 types are planned: dry forests, most/normal forests, rain forests
and for every forest 5 growing stages
resulting currently in about 133+- biomes - there are also others like mountain-, ocean-, and river-biomes e.g.
The best case scenario could be to have a "single climate" world, that feels as diverse as the current worlds with dozens of diverse biomes at different stages, + in combination with the flower layer, create even more diverse biomes.

First, probably a few "normal" worlds, as i prepare & build the new forests plants.
In order to test these, i probably will do 1 or more worlds for each climate, testing every stage out and see where it goes from there. But will take some time
Additionally im thinking about adding rivers and other biomes to this diversity treatment too. Just a little concerned for my worldpainter file, which has become significantly huge, complex and cluttered and a little buggy too.
before i got into that rabbit hole, the original idea to improve future biome diversities, was just the "growth-stages" diea, which if the latitude aproach doesnt work out, will definitely come
