Writing/World Building with Crendor: Ep 1

Discussing what ideas made me want to start writing, what changed, and what I'm working on now.

Writing/World Building with Crendor: Ep 1

Comments

I mainly enjoy the 'fallen hero' as a villian, since it gives them something you can relate to them with. ie: Arthas, Darth Vader, etc.

Author John Green recently talked about his method of writing books, and it's loosely based on the 'SMART' goals system. You can Google it, but it's essentially a way to break down your goals into tasks. With 6,000+ words, you're no greenhorn writer, but you gotta focus up if you want to finish. FYI, I'm just projecting my own terrible writing habits and hoping that I'll change.

This was really cool, world building is so much fun. I think world building is my favorite part of creating stories. What was your favorite part of the world building process so far? Also one of the things I always struggle with is my villains, creating villains that are interesting to read about. Do you have a favorite kind of villain or type of plot line you are most interested in writing about?

Good stuff, I'd like you to post the word document, so that we can read it. Excited to see you talk more about writing, as I myself have always been big on writing. (fantasy/sci-fi novels)

Oh man crendoge world building yes

I went through the exact same process when I first started writing and stumbled on brandon's lessons. It made me questions everything and I had to start over focusing less on the whole background of the world etc and focus more on the main plot/character.

I would like to see that word document.
