Love yall! My heart BREAKS listening to the money side of Grace. Hurts my heart and it has been for years. It's eye opening listening to these details. so much more could be done for people that the church can't do because of where they DO spend their money. It's so corrupt. Thankful to be out of it and on the other side of the pain of it all. Thank you both for your passion

2024-10-18 18:32:25 +0000 UTCAs someone who grew up Catholic and then had a good number of friends who grew up (and left) the LDS church, the insight into how growing up in an evangelical setting, and how the mechanisms of the churches themselves work has been fascinating. I really appreciate how open Drew and Grant are about their experiences and how it's affected both of your lives , and how genuinely compassionate and loving you two are with one another. So often, brothers in media have friendly banter or joke with one another, but there's something incredibly special about hearing two brothers express love, caring and understanding with one another in such a genuine manner, and as someone with brothers I love with all my heart, it just makes me feel happy to hear.

I mean, most of them are, seeing as I grew up in a secular family and live in parts of Germany that are mostly secular, so religion never really played a role in my life. But also not going to the ER with a maybe-broken arm and the reality of hurricanes...?!?! I mean, it's not that I didn't know about the existence of mega churches, health insurance issues and hurricanes before and how these affect people, since I'm not living under a rock, but it's all so far away from me and my life. But seeing people who I've grown to really like and appreciate over the last weeks being affected by these things just hits differently, I guess? I dunno if this makes any sense... Anyway, great episode as always β€οΈ
