The pain on Grants face during his diatribe about the so-called Christians and their lack of empathy for those in need was heartbreaking. The look on Drews face was so telling. He had come to this realization long ago. I really don't know how both of you managed not to break down in tears. I imagine it was close. The fact that big box churches can spend thousands (ok, millions) on their Broadway displays of "Christianity" is disgusting. Almost as disgusting as the sheep that follow the party rule. Why feed and clothe the needy when you can blow your budget on glitter, lights, costumes and drummer rigging. I guess Barnum was right. There's a sucker born every minute. And an evil empire willing to take advantage of that sucker.

My daughter sang once upon a December on stage at a place called the Dosey Doe here in Texas. She also just performed in Mamma Mia this weekend as Tanya... Super proud Mamma Moment 😉 (I couldn't help myself)

I relate so much to the things you're sharing in this episode, Grant. That realization that the church is as imperfect as the fallible humans it preaches about. It's a jarring awakening. Mine happened when I was 14. My mom and I were devout Orthodox Christians. She grew up in the faith and raised me the same way. We went to liturgy every Sunday and every additional service related to holidays and major annual services. My dad wasn't a part of the church, was an abusive piece of shit, and he actually abandoned us completely - leaving us destitute in California. He had lost his job, packed up and peaced out. Today he and I are no contact, as he has ruined more women's lives and abandoned additional children through his selfishness, neglect, and substance addiction. Anyway, the moment that broke my faith in "the church" was my mom coming home to our one-bedroom apartment in (we lived up in Salinas), white as a sheet, and through stuttering and hyperventilating breaths explained that the priest had told her that due to her "grave sin of divorce" she was not allowed communion or confession for a year. Basically "This is all your fault so now you're damned for a bit, nope no further discussion, get out." It didn't matter what kind of person my dad was, or the hell he put her through. It didn't matter that HE was the one who left. She was to be punished. I remember thinking... How is that God's will? How is that in line with the ideas of love and unconditional forgiveness? Needless to say, even outside of evangelical christianity within the older sects, human beings have replaced God at the center of the church. Whether heaven or god or the devil or any of it is "real" or not, modern day christians worship themselves, and organized religion is largely driven by greed. That's why Trump is their perfect candidate, as he embodies those gross princples. I also totally agree, it's NOT "christanity" anymore - it's something else. :/

Had a coworker leave a meeting because someone brought up how Trump’s policies are affecting our clients and he voted for him. He doesn’t deserve to be comfortable in our space. I’m not going to “go high” with someone who can’t look up anyway
