Sneak peek 96

I've been experimenting cheaping away at this 3D dragon  

Here's a sketch i did before doing the 3D model

I call it experimentation because once H-D is done id like to try out making a 3D game a very small one atleast and wanted to see how a model turned out and try out a bunch of stuff on it.

Dragon, shows the model in unity and also the fact the model is palette swapable just like the sprite characters are in H-D

Rig, shows the model rigged, pretty happy with the result considerating it was an automatic weight assignment done with a recycled rig slightly tweaked to fit into the dragon's mesh

DragonFace, showcases eyes being a alpha masked geometry mask.... that also has a moveable pupil (the pupil  can also be swapped to a different texture (like a heart))

Texture shading, shows the model in blender an alternative way of shading the model rather than it being dynamically lit the light is manually done by painting it on the texture (colors are the pre paletized colors, sprites in H-D are internally like this)


SHADING RANT!

For the most part i preffer how the model looks this way however doing it like this takes more time than  just dynamically shading the model and also doing it like this prevents dynamically shading the model without it looking off. 

if the mesh of the character was a proper full mesh without separated pieces for pussy tits arms and hands i feel like i would preffer dynamic shading but doing it that way would probably equal/surpass the time it takes to do texture shading

I'm sure plenty would enjoy the 3d style to a degree. It's not my prefrence to see anthro's in 3d since it always looks off to me but if the game is fun and the animation good I'll still support it.
