Missy belongs to KitKatZZ
Since this is a portrait, we've got a good chance to focus on Missy's facial features, her expression, action and details of her outfit. Oh, and did you notice? We very much adore drawing smokers. (Don't condone the behavior, though!)
We've decided to go with a night-time background and place her on a rooftop somewhere - so that a bit of the city skyline can be seen. Pleased with this decision~
As with any close-up shot, we had to pay special attention to shading of her features, mixing harsh and soft edges to get the right feeling across. The contrast of matte and reflective surfaces is also a very good way to add visual interest to the artwork.

Oh, well, we just draw some shapes with a transparent soft brush, and then erase some bits with a harder brush, it's real simple)
