Dev Blog 18 | Jel's Cafe | Ver 0.06a release

Hey everyone, a new week of development and work has gone by! Version 0.06a is now ready to release for everyone to test, you can find the full patch notes in the readme file found alongside the new download. The Download for this build can be found at the bottom of this blog post!

JEL'S CAFE PROGRESS

Customer Updates:

I did some more work to the new customers, it wasn't a top priority for me to give each of them unique dialouge as I only needed their code for this playtest, though now Angie, Stella and James have unique dialouge, Samantha still reuses all of Marco's dialouge for the time being.

Seat upgrade 4:

You can now purchase both seat upgrades and have additional customers appear throughout the day. This now means you can have a total of 8 characters appear during a day cycle. You can purchase this upgrade from Marco and Paul after purchasing the first seat upgrade. (You need to make sure you have a minimum of 8 customers active in order for this upgrade to work).

UI:

New special gift items were added, meaning the UI is now up to date with placeholder images once more. In addition to this I used a new display technique in the back alley market's special gift section, which won't look any different at first, but internally it now runs a lot better and reuses the same asset as the UI icons instead of being a smaller compressed version. This will save time in the future when the art assets begin being implemented.

That's everything for now, this will likely be the last pre alpha build as all of the gameplay features and code has mostly been added. I still have two more special customers I would like to add, and I'll need to make a start on character endings too, though these will likely be added in the future instead.

Save files from previous versions possibly can be transfered over to this new build, though it might cause issues so it is reommended to create a new save file.
