At the beginning of 2020, all I could think was, wow this is going to be a great year for optometrists to put out sales on stuff. 2020 might have been that, I guess, but 2020 sure was a lot of other way bigger stuff, huh.
For me personally, it meant an uptick in commission artwork to make up for the loss of convention income. Nice, I got more stuff to show you guys! Less nice: it took a lot of energy, and I didn't get very much personal stuff done. Also nice: I had realized I was doing too many conventions and overloading myself with stressful travel, and 2020 turned into an enforced break from that. In 2021 I might ease back into conventions as the world stops being upside down, but I know now not to do it at the level I was previously.
I'm EXTREMELY grateful that I still have work and am still able to live this art-for-a-living dream of mine, because I know job stuff has been super, super rough this year for a huge number of people. My success was in large part due to my Patreon supporters, and I cannot say thank you enough for that <3 I love you guys, you guys rock.
Thank you guys so much! I hope your 2021s go a whole lot more smoothly than this strange mess of a year has gone.
