But as I recall, she was slowly influenced into changing her perspectives, not just had her personality magically "adjusted." When it came to the Archmaesters, I'd agree that vaguely stretched credulity. But bear in mind that he offered them new knowledge and material to study for their respective subjects of research. Your assumption regarding the maesters, assume that they all generally value power over learning. And that's just not how they've been generally conditioned.

I try not to take stuff too seriously and I get that he has some skills for negotiation but how is he poaching archmaesters from the citadel? Idk if the maester vows prevent anything but the Archmaesters are the leaders of the citadel and are the leading masters in their field. Add to that his stated goal of creating a university, thus breaking their monopoly on knowledge, and I can't fathom how he's getting away with any of this. I could understand the mage and qyburn just because they are on their way out anyway, maybe the books if they are copies but not really with them having to be hand copied. Anyway, it was really just how easy it was that I guess is bugging me. I know that's not saying much with how easy everything else goes but it would've been more believable if he mind controled them... Speaking of, I hate that Asha got her personality adjusted, I know it's a staple of the waifu catalog genre but I would have preferred her just being unable to betray him rather than it actually changing her personality. Sry for the rant.
