"Avoiding Politics" Script Notes
Added 2020-02-20 05:45:10 +0000 UTCHey Patreonaroonies, so here in the extra credit classroom I'm always trying to think of cool stuff I can share without pulling the curtain too far back on what goes into my lesson prep. So here's something I do for every video, which is to write out a full script and then print it and mark notes all over it while reading it out loud. It helps me with pacing and finding good improv-sounding jokes to put in the final draft.
Most of my favorite moments come from this phase, where I'm away from the computer at a bar or something, just burning through the script like I hate it and scratching out anything that bothers me for something faster and sharper. It's my cure to writer's block and I've never made a script worse when making notes like this.

Also check out the part where I wrote "insert well written final comment" -- that's just lazy writing Erik you dumb fuck! My second favorite part is my insistence on making this joke about frying your t-shirts before wearing them. Anyway, fry your shirts and please enjoy.
