I find that for whatever reason I like using colors that are similar to each other but just a bit off. Is that analogous? Who knows! But I think it's just a neat thing to do rather than going the normal route of using complementary colors. I even had the rope a shade of brown but I though the white just looked cooler. And sometimes it's as simple as that. Not all these layers of artistic theory and whatnot (99% of which is just bullshitting, by the way).
Sometimes you just do something because it looks cool.
