Survey Results
Added 2019-05-24 22:23:22 +0000 UTCI want to go over the results from last week's character survey as well as talk about possibilities for content.
Starting with Mass Effect, Miranda takes the easy first overall with 8 votes. Ashley is second for ME characters and third overall with 4. Rather surprisingly, there's only a few more ME representatives. Liara (x2), FemShep (x1), Jack (x1), Oriana (x1), and Samara (x1). Perhaps people expected Mass Effect content so they didn't include more? I actually made the total for 10 characters because I thought fewer might have too much Mass Effect representation. Although if that were the case, Miranda still made mention in almost every post. Some sort of Miranda tease is basically a guarantee. After that, Ashley seems the top candidate for more Mass Effect.
Cassie cage is the surprise of the post coming in all the way at second overall with 5 votes. It's funny especially because I've done so little with her. In fact, I think the only animation I've ever done of her was actually a Studio FOW raffle collaboration. I quite like her, but I've never played Mortal Kombat or any fighting games before. It's always something I've had a little interest in, but never bothered to buy on sale. Fighting games in general have a lot of representation. Ivy Valentine is up quite high with 3 votes. Chun-Li and Laura Matsuda with 2 each. 4 different characters for DoA, and 3 more from Mortal Kombat with 1 vote each. I have to say the characters from MK11 particularly look good.
Next up were the expected steady performers in Dragon Age and the Witcher. Triss edges out Yennefer with 4 mentions to 3. Morrigan and Isabela also with 3. Leliana and Cassandra pick up 2 each. Plenty more characters from each with 1 more mention. I suppose the only surprise here is no Ciri. I would've defaulted to her from the Witcher simply because I haven't done much with her, but I have no problems re-visiting the favorites instead.
Other honorable mentions go to Samus and Lara Croft with 3 each, and Mercy, Cortana, Elizabeth, and Claire with 2. Anyone else had only 1 mention.
If we sort by franchise, the top ramps down quickly. Mass effect (x18), Witcher (x12), Dragon Age (x11), Mortal Kombat (x8), Overwatch (x5).
Ultimately, any projects will be determined by a proper poll, but this is a good starting point.
Next up, content structure. I've been thinking about content and I've come up with 3 tiers.
- Short Movies (30-60 seconds)
- Long Loops (10-20 seconds)
- Short loops (3-5 seconds)
I'm just not exactly sure how to structure content releases in relation to the movie. Short movies will stand out but take longer to make, short loops provide quick variety, and longer loops are the middle ground. I don't want to break from the movie for long, but I don't know how long it will take to build up support.
The top idea I have is a short movie with Miranda. Show off the model, show off ZeroDiamonds in a finished production. Reasonably short and to the point around 60 seconds. Perhaps I warm up with some loops before I use that movie as a big push for Undercover ASSignment. Depending on how all that goes, I can follow up with a different movie. Perhaps instead of working on multiple things at once, I try alternating. Work on a movie scene until it is complete, then switch to another short project until that is complete, and so on.
It's a lot to think about, and I don't really want to commit to anything until I have a fairly solid plan. Feedback is appreciated.

I think that's what makes the most sense. I'd kind of like to do short movies, but it just doesn't really work for the schedule. It's better to warm up with some loops and tease movie updates. Miranda is suitable for a short since that's most relevant to Undercover ASSignment.

2019-05-25 15:45:30 +0000 UTCI'm thinking long & short loops. The short movie length is probably good as a trailer for the movie, but I don't know if it's a good idea to produce regularly
