Bulk Mushroom Cultivation Video Released

For the person that needs a medicinal supply that can last many years, that only wants to do one grow, under a small table in the corner of a room... OR how to get 30 lbs of mushrooms fast ;)   5 months of work, it's finally done!  Special thank you to the patron who sent the spores! Hope this video helps.  I plan to do my next video on the Griffiths protocol.

Enjoy,

Regarding the small fruit size, any number of factors could be involved - the strain you used, the temperatures (don't let it get too hot), the substrate humidity (they need water to grow big), air (if air exchange is too low it can cause them to stop growing, try more air). The gnats - I've only had a problem when growing outdoors. The coir itself should come sterile (not the source of the gnats) so heating it more when preparing the substrate probably won't help. Using some type of fine mesh screen or even polyfill might help exclude them from your monotubs, other than that you can try just killing them off or using traps, see: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/14778683

I love this video, thank you! This was the first time I tried a coco coir substrate, and it seemed to work very well for first flush - but I ran into a few issues, and wondered if you had any suggestions or pointers as to what I could be doing wrong. 1) the fruits were very tiny - about half the size that I've seen them in the past. What could cause that? 2) my biggest problem is that the coir seemed to get infested with what looks like fruit flies - after researching, I think they might be fungus gnats. Will keeping the coir hot longer help, or have you run into this at all? What was your fix? Thanks so much!

All stages of growth do best with 12 hour on, 12 hour off lighting. You can just put them near a window or in a sunny room as long as they are out of direct sunlight (no direct sun is important).

One more question. When spawning in agar, I don't remember what kind of light time, if any, I should be giving them?
