Back to it. Lab News 5-15-2023

Getting back to the swing of things (when not totally engrossed by Tears of the Kingdom), and it has me looking ahead to various things here on the Patreon, and upcoming videos.

Which leads me to the path forward. One of the big things I always try to adhere to is making sure that not only are you getting the best extra goodies through your support here, but that it also doesn't add so much work onto me that I start to risk burnout.

So consider this a kind of roadmap of where I'll be putting in the work in the weeks ahead, and what some goals of mine are.

UPCOMING PATREON CHANGES:

The $1 LAB FUND tier will be getting retired at the end of this week. While I appreciate those of you that hit that tip jar, it bothers me that there's no benefit for you, and Patreon takes over half of that in fees. I also won't just "raise the price" to earn a bit more without having something for your time and dime.

If you're currently subscribed there, but don't want to bump up to the $3 tier, no worries! I am genuinely grateful for the support you've already given me. Just in case any miss this, I'll be shooting a message to LAB FUND supporters tomorrow.

Some have asked about a new, higher tier to give more support, and I have been looking into that, promise. The main issue right now is that I can't think of a suitable perk to make such a tier worth it. As always, if you have any ideas, or requests for what other extras you'd like to see, please let me know!

MINIPAINTING SERIES

I've read your requests, and I'm already laying the groundwork for a series of 3 videos covering everything you need to know about minipainting, and how I approach my own work. Those will be:

• Minipainting 101 - terms, tools, and time to start
• Speedpaints - why the base you start with matters
• The Artificer's Way - a video covering my current techniques and tricks

These will start filming after the next build video, and should come together pretty quickly, so you can expect all three to be out before we make the big move in July.

Tears of the Kingdom Build Videos

I'm still creating 3 of these (yay Triforce!) with the first to drop soon. But I've also decided to space them out a bit more, to give me more room for some smaller projects to pad things out before I have to pack up everything in the Lab. The first of the builds is still on schedule, and I'll have WIP shots for supporters soon!
