Can you believe it, August marks the 3-year anniversary of Advent's Amazing Advice!? It has been quite the journey! Throughout this time, the entirety of Dragon of Icespire Peak, The Stranger Things Adventure, Shore of Dreams, and more were all fully prepped! Not only that, but The Lost Mine of Phandelver has also been fully updated to help the visually Impaired! I'm most excited for the next big projects, fully prepping Curse of Strahd and Madness at Gardmore Abbey!
If you think that's all, then you're in for a treat. This year, I'm also planning my voyage into creating YouTube videos to help new DMs and introduce everyone to the huge selection of adventures out there. You can expect the AAA flair as well, but that is a surprise you'll have to wait and see!
To celebrate our Anniversary, I'll be hosting contests and offering huge discounts, so keep your eyes peeled for future posts! Now back to our regularly scheduled broadcast!
Releases for last month:
Stranger Things: The Hunt for Thessalhydra (Part 2) - Venturing into the Upside Down, your players will meet a warrior princess named Elle, who may just have the next clue they need to find the Thessalhydra and get out of this gods forsaken place. However, it may require coming face-to-face with a Demogorgon!
Once your players find a way out of the Upside Down, they will have to navigate their way through the Thessalhydra's lair before their final encounter with the beast. Should they slay it and survive, they will be heralded as heroes; should they fall...many more will join them.
Do your players have what it takes?
Stranger Things: The Hunt for Thessalhydra (The Complete Collection) - To all my Legends and Deities, here is the compilation of part 1 and part 2 brought together for your convenience!
Curse of Strahd (Part The Village of Barovia) (2025 Update) - Whew, updating this one was a challenge; many things have been changed, including adding a full-blown siege that your players will have to defend against!
Just like in Death House, I've added two versions: one that follows Curse of Strahd Reloaded as closely as possible, as well as my own version that lightens up on the descriptions, retains a side quest from previous iterations, and will be updated even more in the future! Oh, and I can't forget that the dialog is far clearer and the document is now also collapsible, which will make navigating much easier!
Prep that has been updated for the Visually Impaired:
The Lost Mine of Phandelver (Wave Echo Cave) - Congratulations on making it to the Grand Finale of The Lost Mine of Phandelver. Our Adventurers have been through quite a bit, from clearing a town of ruffians, raiding a castle, saving Gundren, fighting not one, but two dragons, and possibly even befriending one. These Adventurers will need all the skills they've learned up to this point to survive the deadly trials ahead! In this session the players will brave through Wave Echo Cave, deal with sinister traps, enemies, and more, all coming to a final epic confrontation!
The Lost Mine of Phandelver (Part 5 Side Quests) - What journey isn't complete without Side Quests! Well, probably this one since WoTC didn't do much to tie any of it together with the overall plot haha. However, that doesn't mean side quests can't be fun when your players want to take a break from the action at large. Instead of Side quests, I had integrated The Reign of Iron into both LMoP and PaB, but I did end up working on Agatha's Lair just in case my players wanted a little something more. Below is a continuation of the quest hook given by Sister Garaele when meeting her at the Shrine of Luck.
Into Ivy Mansion - This level 3-4 One-Shot will have your players approached by Tristan Harpell, an entitled young mage and heir to a suite of rooms in Ivy Mansion, the ancestral home of the Harpell wizard dynasty. His inheritance is “infested” with the wacky experiments of his dead great-uncle, Siegfried Harpell, and Tristan needs the party to clean things up. Your players will have many wild and bizarre encounters while digging through Siegfried's derelict magical concoctions, and along the way, they might even discover the astonishing truth behind Siegfried's disappearance!
Dragon of Icespire Peak (Part 3c Mountain's Toe Gold) - The Mountain's Toe Gold Mine has been suffering productivity problems as of late. You've been tasked with escorting a new overseer there. It's a rather simple job that pays well and could certainly be left at that...if your players are none too heroic, but something tells me they crave a bit more, a cave to explore, a mystery to be solved. Should your players be brave enough, they will discover a cave overrun by the Whiskered Gang, a group of wererats who declared this their new home. It will be up to your players to save the miners within. Perhaps they can negotiate and find themselves on an interesting side quest, or maybe they'll choose to eradicate those varmints...only time will tell...
