I am in love with the way this album turned out - the pops of color, the messy wig & paint, red lip & silver under-eyes are absolute magic to me - Sweet, spicy, silly, supple, surreal, ferocious - All of the different playful personalities that came through during this shoot LIT ME ON FIRE! We were giggling, dancing, spanking, & wilding like CHILDREN.
It took me a good couple months to even feel ready to process this album. I wrote it off for a while because there was underlying shame, guilt, & self disgust that I felt when looking at the photos. All part of the process, to be felt & integrated through self love.
Self love is not about convincing ourselves that we are beautiful or why we are worthy of love. It is about our willingness to open, feel ourselves, & connect with our heart, the part of us that KNOWS our beauty unwaveringly. As we drop into FEELING our heart, all narratives, limiting beliefs & stored emotional energy in the body begins to dissolve.
Invitation to join me in this mini practice:
Place one hand on your heart. Feel the sensation of your hand on your chest. Feel your butt on the surface you are sitting on or your feet on the ground. Feel the sensation of your breath moving into the area your hand is touching. Allow the space to expand with each inhale. On the exhale, let go of any tension you feel in your body. Make sound if it feels good. Repeat.
