The Summer Hikaru Died Episode 4 Reaction (UNCUT)

Comments

What I think this show is doing so well is managing to leave the mystery completely open and yet hold everyone's interest. I'm watching a few reactions and some people are scared for Yoshiki and feel he's trapped by the creature-Hikaru and in serious danger from him. Some people see it as a love story and are hoping Yoshiki and creature-Hikaru can get together despite terrible odds. Both of those sides are enjoying the series equally. I think that's a pretty good achievement. Normally people want the show to tell them which side to be on or they lose interest, or so it seems to me. This show lets people think for themselves and doesn't feel pressured into giving up the goss too soon. I find that really interesting. PS can you pick a name for this monster-creature-imposter-fake Hikaru thing? I never know what to type lol

It looked like the lady at the end was preventing some spirit from rising up through the level crossing. Maybe a ghost of someone who got hit by a train and died in the past? I only saw what you did, though, so I don't really know anything. Nonuki-sama? Unuki-sama? The two names were mentioned last week but we still don't know much about either. Matsuura-san, the old lady killed in episode 1, said Nonuki-sama had come down from the mountain? Where was Unuki-sama? Are they two things or two names for one thing? If the former, which is pretending to be Hikaru? I think the one pretending to be Hikaru might have been pleased to hear Yoshiki say that he didn't feel at all* like Hikaru because that would mean, as you said, that he is his own being rather than just a copy of another, but maybe also because it shows him that Yoshiki is with him even though he feels nothing like Hikaru. That would mean he is with the fake Hikaru because he wants to be with the fake Hikaru, and not because he wants to feel as if he's still with the real Hikaru. *The subtitle didn't make that clear. Yoshiki said, "Zenzen" which means, "Not at all" or "Not in the slightest". So it was meant to be taken as: You and Hikaru feel *completely* different.
