Dust Bunny Cleanup Crew + Commentary

Maid Skye was first drawn in May 2020, a little over a year ago! It was for Maid Day (one of those meme holidays that happen a lot on Japanese Art Twitter). I didn't draw her again til February of 2021, and because I apparently had lost my mind I gave her cat ears and glasses and guns. I felt like she should probably be fighting something, so I drew evil "dust bunnies" in the background, which I guess kicked off the "lore" for this alternate universe.
The latest picture happened because I wanted to do something with a more interesting perspective/angle with full bodies, and I think it turned out ok. The background has cameos of various friends' bunny OCs, which was an idea that came up while I was drawing with friends in a discord drawchat.
With a previous Metal Slug fanart, people kept bringing up how Fio's gun wasn't accurate to real life in various ways, so I paid some special attention on the ones in this pic. Hana's shotgun is based on the Mossberg 500, and Skye is dual wielding pistols based on the Beretta M9, and since no one has complained about the guns yet I guess I did ok there :P (well ok someone mentioned they'd run out of ammo real quick, so in the next one maybe they'll be wearing more gear >:))
After finishing this pic I felt like it kinda looked like a video game concept art or something (and people commented this as well) and I actually became invested with this setting, so I'll probably be exploring this alternate universe more often in the coming weeks! :)
