Friday Rambles 7/1/2022
Added 2022-07-03 02:34:22 +0000 UTCIt's the Saturday Afternoon Friday Rambles!
A new month! Wow!! 2022 is already more than halfway over! Cool! hahahahahaha
Been spending the entire week here in SoCal, visiting family. Enjoyed my time here so far, but I'm honestly a little bit antsy to go back home so I can relax and play XCOM 2 (and uhh draw of course).
Anime Expo
Well it's come and gone. We only got a 1 Day Pass for Friday, because I'm too feeble for anything more than that. Spent most of the day in line, and then the Artist Alley, and walked around the Exhibitors Hall for a bit. Met some people I knew and bought a bunch of stickers and other merch and stuff. All in all had a good time but I'm also really tired and I hope I didn't catch anything in that sea of people lol. Once the pandemic is actually over I reckon I'll be more outgoing and excited about offline meetups and stuff like that.
Anyway I would love to table in the Artist Alley there one day if I am ever successfully able to even apply. I'm going to work on gitting gud and making printworthy art and fanarts in the meantime.
Media I am currently absorbing:
- XCOM 2 - I got it for like 90% off or something during the Steam Summer Sale. I've been thoroughly addicted to it but was forced to quit for my trip. I can't wait to save the world once I get back home.
- Spy x Family - Still keeping up with all the episodes. Still enjoyable, but I guess this last one was the final one before they start back up in October?
- Top Gun: Maverick - Quite good. It was a well made flick that I found thoroughly engaging with a character story I ended up caring about and lots of good action
- Summer Games Done Quick 2022 - SGDQ is going on right now, I guess. I watched the DKC Tropical Freeze speedrun on Youtube and I'll catch up with the rest of the games I care about next week when I get back home
- Obi-wan Kenobi - Finished the series, I guess it wasn't that bad, but it was also kind of unnecessary
- Stranger Things S4 - The 2 final episodes are out but I won't be able to watch them til I get back home. No spoilers
- Strange Attorney Woo Young-Woo (Also called Extraordinary Lawyer Woo?) - A cute and interesting Korean drama/comedy. The courtroom scenes reminded me of Ace Attorney lol. It's on Netflix and so far 2 episodes have aired?
Concluding paragraph:
I don't really feel guilty about watching/reading/playing stuff instead of drawing, because it's good to absorb other works to get inspired for your own works. You know? So I'll be back next week in better form.
Not much else besides family things. I got new glasses. And uhhhh, had some really good Indian food today. Okay next week will be more interesting... maybe...
3 weeks into funemployment, and I've spent 2 of those weeks off on trips, so I'm a bit traveled out at this point tbqh, and excited and inspired to finally get some work in on my own projects. Anyway, thanks for your continued support, as always!
