Dancing with Air Fryers (they are heavy) Full res and commentary

I drew this last night. I actually like it. It seems like a simple drawing of something silly but after a month of wallowing in misery every time I tried to draw because nothing was looking like how I wanted it to, it was a very welcome change of pace lol.

Long-time Endless Monday fans will know what this is in reference to. It is a sequel to this silly thing I also made late at night that I ended up liking a lot too. (wow! this was from 2021!)

(which in turn was inspired by a book/calendar/whatever called Dancing with Cats that I saw at Barnes and Noble like a gazillion years ago, figured it's a household name and thus an obvious homage, but idk if the zoomers actually know about this)

After posting this, someone commented that Whiskey must have some major upper arm strength, holding that air fryer in one hand like that. I actually don't know how heavy this kind of air fryer is. But yeah, my air fryer (with a big heavy lid) is pretty darn heavy. So I figured yeah that guy's right, so this time I thought it would be funny if Skye was having trouble dancing with her air fryer because it's really heavy. But then someone commented that air fryers aren't really that heavy, so I actually looked it up and I guess these kinds of air fryers can weigh about 15 pounds, which isn't really super heavy or anything, but I think I can explain away Skye's tiredness since it's probably hard to dance with a big 15 pound hunk of cooking equipment for any decent length of time. But certainly, Whiskey would be able to hold it in one hand. So there. Anyway if I do a Whiskey sequel again in this new style, she'll be lifting it with ease, again. The lesson here is to not assume stuff and do research before drawing something so I can own commenters with facts (although in this case it doesn't really matter lol).

Speaking of "new style" - I'm attempting to make my painting style as clean and vibrant as my pixel art style. I think that's one of the reasons I wasn't feeling all my other work this month, because they're all sketchy and muddy looking. It's certainly a lot more work, but I'm experimenting around with various techniques to try and make it more streamlined. But the more important thing I found is that the subject material I'm drawing has to be interesting to me in the first place, or else it's difficult to put in the effort to clean it up.

Also, Skye is way taller in the new version. I think I like drawing long legs lol. Not really new, though, if you look at my old "Friday" series of Skye pictures.

Eagle eyes shoe fans might notice Skye's shoes are Vans Old Skools. She likes wearing them (they're also what I wear daily :)) and they're also callback to her old skateboarding days.
