Some game dev progress
Added 2022-11-25 19:44:36 +0000 UTCI finally got off my butt and started doing some initial development for an Endless Monday game. Since it's my first serious project ever, I'm going to make it super small in scope (just doing the basic VN thing, with simple story and branching dialog).

I'm using GameMaker Studio for the engine/IDE. I've got a dialog system and character talking/idle animations working so far. It's been nice scratching the coding itch.
I only started working on this a couple days ago, but it's already taking form! The quick test sprite/bg I drew don't actually look that bad together! (lol) Now to "just" make a fun and interesting game...
I'll continue updating if I have any cool new updates here in the ol Patreon.
Thank you for your support, as always!

Thanks! So Renpy and other visual novel frameworks are quite good for making VNs specifically, but I wanted something more general purpose, in terms of what I want to do for this game in particular, and for learning for future projects. Building something from scratch has been very fun and educational so far.
