Friday Rambles and Game Dev Update 2023-11-10

Friday Rambles time.

I've made good progress on Whiskey's Bar. A story and some mechanics are coalescing into an actual game I might be able to show to people at some point. Might take a little longer than previously expected though, because it's shaping up to be like, around the same size as the original game itself. Oh no!

I'm working on a bunch of different things, and I feel like I'm spending more time on the not-dev parts of game-dev lately. I guess that's why actual game studios have producers. So the devs can just dev and not have to make decisions or awkwardly attempt to communicate, poorly, with the outside world. Yeah, well, I'm just one person, dammit. I haven't had a good nights sleep in months.

In vtuber news, another Nijisanji EN vtuber has played my game, and liked it.

Watching the VOD, the chat seemed to like it a lot too. Still remains to be seen if it translates into sales or wishlists, though. idk. Whatever. Still cool. I'm glad people are enjoying the game, even now.

My mouse is broken and seems to only recognize that it's moving around a quarter of the time. It's a nightmare to use. I ordered a new one, but it won't be here for a bit. Just as well.

Tiger-chan plush! It's going to be available to purchase on 11/22. In a way it's fortuitous that I'm having this, whatever it is, with game dev right now, because I now have a burning desire to make an entire ~Tiger-chan comic zine~!!! I already wrote the story for it (obviously with a plushie doll aspect to it) and I'll be beaming it out to all my followers and email newsletter subscribers when I'm done in the next week or so, to encourage them to buy the darn thing. Not gonna have a physical edition this time around, because I want people to buy my plushie, not my zines that take 400 hours to print and fold.

In other news, I've still been jogging regularly, which is like the only thing keeping me from collapsing mentally like a big ol Jenga tower. Jogging rules. Love 2 jog.
