Friday Rambles and Game Dev Update 2025-02-07

It's the Tuesday Friday Rambles.

Gamedev Stuff

Despite everything that went on this week (continuation of last week's seasonal illness stuff which I won't bore you with) I still got a decent amount of work done.

Stuff I did this week+x days:

Drew all CGs for 3 more scenes + some more. Like 17 CGs.
- Some are more complicated than others, of course. But I'm proud of the way these turned out. As usual, spoilerific, so you'll have to take my word for it.
Drew and coded some more RPG sequence stuff.
Finished localized assets for one language, started playtesting with first draft of finished translation. (see above)
Watching and adding notes to revision process for another language.
2 more languages remain in progress, and I'm working with translators on those.

Remaining art assets are mostly for a handful of "bad" endings, and the backgrounds I need to draw for the main ending. And the localized assets for the remaining languages, of course. Anyway, I've counted and it's already more art than the original game. Oh no! Why is the bonus chapter bigger than the original game? It's practically a sequel lol good thing it's free

I've been reading a lot of my own script while the localization process is going on, and I keep reading things I've forgotten I've written, and sometimes they're pretty darn funny. Past me is making me proud, which I'm considering a success. Write for an audience of one, as they say!

I've also been daydreaming/brainstorming about Game 2 (working title: Relaxing Weekend). I'll need to really get going on this if I'm wanting to show it at TGS or whatever so I can have something to submit to the indie selection panel.

The End

The remaining days of this week will be spent on finishing remaining assets, and probably a lot of back and forth with translators as they finish their work. The end is in sight! Thank you for your support, as always. See you next week (or, in a few days?)!
