That game was easily the worst night of my sports-fan life. 365 days later (well, 366, leap year and all) was the 2004 ALCS Game 3 when the Yankees embarrassed the Red Sox 19-8, to take that 3-0 lead. Those two games, taken together, were proof enough to me that the Red Sox were under an unbreakable curse.
