Gettin' Solid - let's goooooooo

Ok, so, I want to get this Patreon rolling, let's start by taking that beautiful beautiful cash you've given me and as much as I want to eat it all for my lizard brain, let's instead finish this finally!

This image has been weighing on me since last September, it must be finished. I really wanted to but right after I started this I began work on that Terminator Dark Fate poster I posted a bit ago. Since then it's just been back to back client work with no time for any personal work. That means big projects like this one took a permanent back seat. But let's change that! The sketch is pretty detailed but I'm gonna start hammering away at it again. I honestly can't wait to finish this one, I'm pumped.

PS - I tried opening this sketch file in photoshop like 3-4 times and it crashed every time. It's sooo massive. 600 dpi at 15,000 pixels, it stretches to the moon and back 8 times.

Well, you're the only ones who know the full comp, now you can see why it's gonna take me a minute to wrap this one up hahaha. But, hopefully you're down to check out the process as we go!

I love MGS and this is dope. Can’t wait to see it finished.

I think the only way I could make that work is at a comiccon, otherwise prints like these can get ugly legally online. But cons generally are a gray area for fan art.

Cant wait!!!

I think my surface pro just melted after reading that pixel length/dpi. This is great!

Towel Man

Can't wait to see this one done :) !!!

Any chance we can buy a poster print of this gorgeous art?

Alexander

Awesome!

I also tend to make my illustration work files way larger than they could possibly need to be on the off chance that I'm going to have it printed and wrapped on a skyscraper or something.

There was one major problem with this piece that is making it take longer than it should, it was all done in line and color, I can get the same exact effect going from black & white rendering(value rendering with basically a watercolor wash or inkwash style) then colorizing. We're gonna see if that all works and go from there. If it looks way too different we'll have to switch back to the approach I was using on it previously. BUT, it should work. Fingers crossed, pray to god to cross his fingers too.
