Venom - step by step - video

Hey!

Hope you've all been well and corona-free. I'm sharing my Venom walkthrough tonight to hopefully give you some insight into how I create something a bit more painterly looking using both Clip and Photoshop. This is more or less an overview of the entire process, similar to how I broke down my Spider-Man Noir covers but in video.

You can download the video here -https://tinyurl.com/vd5nbxb

PSD with each step in layers is attached to this post!

Let me know if you have any further questions about the process in the comments.

Also, my apologies for lack of appearance on here, I'm trying to be more regular now but once that corona hit our town things got a little nuts for us. My wife is an ICU nurse so she's had a whole change up with her schedule that's made it harder for us to get everything together with our baby and life in general. Things are getting a little better now though after the initial shake up and we're all doing fine. I hope you and yours are doing ok out there. Thank you so much for your support.

I use Clip for rendering because I feel that the brush engine is superior to Photoshop's when it comes to accurately depicting the lines you're drawing/painting, it feels a lot closer to how it feels drawing/painting on paper/canvas. Also, I just enjoy the brushes on there(they're on this patreon for download) and have completely shifted over to using it for all my work.

Was just wondering why you chose to render in clip studio and not photoshop? Maybe you’ve answered this before but I’m new to your Patreon.

I'm also a huge fan of Bengus and the Capcom art from that era. There's a really cool personality and style to that stuff. My favorite is probably his Sabertooth design. Thanks for the video.
